CHRISTMAS WORKSHOP TUTORIALS

CHRISTMAS POST N TAG IT CARD TUTORIAL

One of my favs for this Christmas
I printed the Christmas wording paper onto white paper linen
from Papermilldirect I've used all the poinsettia die sets I have
Once I'd inked, curled and pinched the poinsettia's
into shape I layered them and pierced a hole through all layers and
stuck the stork of the baubles through the holes (much better than glueing I think)
I created the kraft card base using the
TIED TENT FOLD TECHNIQUE
I then matted a cream satin card onto the front of the base card and after cutting out & distressing
the edges of the snowflake paper & distressing it with the Tim Holtz Paper Distresser I mounted this on top with foam pads. I also inked around the other pieces too.

Attach the back panel
Create a pop out box following the tutorial included
and attach it to the back of the shaped pop out piece
Attach the postcard with foam pads & attach the tag to the underneath of the shaped pop out piece
to create even more dimension.
You should now have this :)
We all have our own ways of decorating our flowers. I like to
add the stamens to the back of the flowers along with the leaves.
I then put a blob of silicone gel onto the shaped
pop out piece and will start to decorate with ribbon and

and here it is all finished :)

POP OUT BOXES CHRISTMAS CARD TUTORIAL

I've printed off my worksheets & cut them out.
You'll also need a 7 x 7 inch square base card &
extra card for layering (optional). I'm also using some lovely 3D stickers
I've attached the green card to the front of my base card
& added foam pads to the back of my panel.
For the 2 pop out panels create pop out boxes following the Pop Out Boxes Tutorial included.
and attach them to the back of your pop out panels (as above)
and attach those to the front of the card taking
care to evenly space them out.
like so
I've then stuck on the 3D stickers and can decorate more with glitter, gems, bows, ribbon etc.
And here's the inside with the inserts following the 7 x 7 inch INSERT TUT which is included.

Pop Up Boxes Tutorial

Firstly, measure the area that you want to place a pop up box,
you'll need the width & the height.
For example, if the area measures 15 cm wide x 10 cm
wide then you'll need a piece of card that is
14 cm wide (so 1 cm narrower) x 8 cm high (2 cm shorter)
THIS IS AN APPROX. GUIDE ONLY
The idea is not to see the box from the front of your project
I usually have a depth of 1cm but if I want it to pop out
further then I would increase this. In the above pic I've scored
at 1cm, 4cm, 5cm, 8cm & 9cm and this will give me a
box that is 3cm high with a pop out depth of 1cm
Cut off any excess card at the last score line
Fold & crease the score lines & add DST to one of the outer flaps on the inside
then close up the box, easy :)

STAR CARD TUTORIAL

Print off the worksheets, you'll also need a 7 x 7
inch square card; a piece of red card for the star & ribbon strip.
In the above pic I'm using a Spellbinder Circle Die & this fab set of star dies

Apply foam pads around the cut out circle on the wrong side
and simply pop the front panel piece over the circle sentiment.
I've also layered up the stars & attached a 3D sticker
Cut the ribbon piece of card to fit and attach
along the centre of the front panel & pop on the star too
Simple :)
and here's the inside of the card.

STOCKINGS CARD TUTORIAL

Here's a really simple but effective card.
Print off the worksheets.
You'll also need a 7 x 7 inch square card base.

cut 3 from the cream pattern and 1 each from the 3 patterns.
The cream ones you'll cut up as we only want the top of the stocking,
the heel & the toe to decoupage. Included in the project is printable stockings
just in case you don't have the die and you'll see an example of that at the end.
Cut on the outside of the pattern ONLY, the inside white blank is
only to save ink as you'll be layering the square panel onto it
like so
and have fun hanging the stockings :)
And here's the version using the printed stockings worksheet
and the insert on the inside.
and finally a demo pic of them both :)

FANCY SHAPED CARD TUTORIAL

I've printed off and cut out all the pieces & glittered up too :)
In this particular tutorial
I'm actually not going to use the frame piece (top left corner)
as I've already done one like that & wanted to see what it would look like without.
You'll also need an A4 piece of card for the base card which I've already scored in half in the pic above & now marking the width to cut it too.
In the above pic I've marked where the bottom of the fancy shape comes to on the base card
when I've laid it central and level with the bottom,
you cut off across the
bottom of the FRONT piece only.
You then prepare the base card using the TIED TENT FOLD TECHNIQUE
Smear glue onto the back of the back panel and attach it to the back of the base card (as above)
Smear glue onto the the front of the base card (as above) keeping the bottom of the fancy shape
level with the bottom of the base card & central.
and you should now have this (above)
Now to attach the front image shape using either silicone gel or foam pads.
Attach the circle sentiment & you're ready to decorate :)
This is the back view
and side view

Above is a demo pic of the one I've just made & the original which has the extra frame on it.
In the same folder is an extra project to make this simple card
with insert
2 projects done :)

ROUND CHRISTMAS SCENE CARD

Print off all the worksheets & cut out.
You'll also need an A4 piece of card to create the base card that the
round card sits on using the TIED TENT FOLD TECHNIQUE
and acetate for the window.

I've laid down the Heartfelt Creation Poinsettia Die over the image poinsettia & cut out.
You do get the blue snowflake paper too so if you don't have this particular die
then you can use that with the dies you do have.
Here's everything cut out and ready :) First thing to do is make up
the base card and attach the back panel & sentiment panel.

I've also cut some holly leaves with this Cheery Lynn Designs Holly Leaves

Attach the acetate to the window on the reverse side, attach the main image circle
to the base card. I'm using silicone gel to attach the see through window circle
(yes I have been a bit excessive with the glue but the tube had split & it needed using up)
Attach and leave to dry.
and decorate :)
and here's the back
